Please sign the Petition to save our wall

To the Members of the San Clemente City Council:

We, the undersigned residents of the surrounding neighborhood, write in support of the appeal filed by Daniel Roberts regarding the retaining wall at 1202 Avenida De La Estrella. Having lived near this property, we are familiar with this wall and respectfully submit that the City's denial of Encroachment Permit is not warranted for the following reasons:

• The retaining wall has occupied its current location for over 50 years, and the City has accepted its presence throughout that time.
• The recent modification did not alter the wall's height, location, or footprint in any way, and we do not believe it creates any safety hazard to vehicles or pedestrians in the area.
• Similar or taller walls exist on the same intersection without enforcement action, making selective enforcement against this property inequitable.

We respectfully urge the City Council to grant the encroachment permit and allow this wall to remain where it has stood for more than half a century.
